Valerie Sharpe (Jeri Ryan) is Dracula's second bride and a minor vampiress antagonist in the 2000 film "Dracula 2000".
Valerie was a former TV news reporter, who was reporting on the plane crash in which Count Dracula's coffin was being transported from London to America. As she was filming near a lake, she asked her camera man , JT , if he got "the flash, get the sunset, get my tits?". When she began her intro again, Dracula suddenly came out of the water. At first he was not seen by the camera man or on film. However, he then grabbed her from behind and cut her throat. All we see is a blood streak on her neck. Suddenly, JT saw him. He dropped the camera and Dracula killed him. Valerie , scared , is shown running into the TV van for safety and locks herself in , seeing her camera man get killed on the TV screen. However, Dracula suddenly appears , tears down the door and charms her and having been seduced , she begins to calm down and takes his hand which he offers.
Valerie is bitten on the throat , turned into a vampire bride and drained of blood off-screen by Count Dracula (Gerard Butler) in the TV news van.
Valerie is later seen with her fellow brides which includes Solina (Jennifer Esposito) and Lucy Westerman (Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick). Solina was Van Helsing's former secretary, and Lucy was a former college student and roommate of Mary Heller (Justine Waddell ). Together the three brides corner their husband's adversary Van Helsing (Christopher Plummer) and kill him.
While fighting Simon and Mary , Valerie makes the comment while on top of Simon, "So tell me, you dream about making it with a TV star?"
Valerie is later stabbed in the chest with a wooden stake when Simon Sheppard (Jonny Lee Miller) throws it at her , thus killing her.
Personality[]
As a human , Valerie was very friendly and would often joke around with her JT. She would try to be professional at her job and not mess up a shot.
After becoming a vampire , however , she became cold-hearted and protective of her husband. When confronting Mary , she asked her what made her so special that Dracula would choose her.
She even flirted around with Simon after being undead asking him if he ever thought of doing it with a TV star.
Relationship with Dracula[]
When she first met Dracula ,he cut her throat, making a blood streak. She was scared and terrified of him . She ran away and hid in the news van. When he came for her after killing JT , Valerie became more scared and started breathing heavily in fear. However, Dracula charmed her and seduced her , offering her hand , making her calm down and fall for him. She then took his hand , having completely fallen for him.
She is then bit by him , drained of blood and turned into a vampire bride off-screen.
After becoming a vampire, Valerie became madly in love with her husband and overprotective of him and was jealous of Mary , asking her what made her so special and angry that Dracula would choose her over Valerie.
She was willing to kill any threats to her husband as she killed Van Helsing with no hesitation and was ready to kill Simon.
Appearance[]
While she was human , she wore a light blue strapped knee-length dress and her hair was blonde and straightened. She had blue eyes and an attractive, slim figure.
After being a vampire , her eyes become clear and turn red when she is hungry. Her hair is curly instead of straight.
While confronting Mary, she still wears the blue dress she wore while she was human.
She later wears a thin - strapped light white dress with a sweetheart neckline revealing her deep cleavage when she tries to defeat Simon and Mary.
Abilities[]
Immortality : Like her husband , Valerie is also immortal.
Shape-shifting : It is assumed that since Valerie is a vampire , she can shapeshift like her husband.
Super strength : Since Valerie is a vampire , she has more strength than that of a regular human.
Regeneration : Valerie's injuries heal much faster than that of a human.
Hypnosis : It is assumed that since she is a vampire like her husband , she can hypnotize people and charm and seduce them.
Able to leap high : Since she is a vampire, she can leap high into the air from a single jump.
Transforming Venom : Since she is a vampire , she can also turn others into a vampire with the help of her venomous fangs.
X-ray vision : Since she is a vampire like Solina , it is assumed that she also has X-ray vision like Solina in the scene where Solina is able to talk to a detective through a two-way mirror.
Wall Crawling : Since she is a vampire, it is assumed that she can also crawl on walls like Lucy.
Levitation : Since she is a vampire, it is assumed that she can levitate , like her husband.
Weaknesses[]
Staking : She is vulnerable to being staked in the heart.
Sunlight : She is vulnerable to being burnt alive by sunlight.
Beheading : She is vulnerable to being beheaded.
Silver bullet : It is assumed that like her husband, she is vulnerable to silver bullets.
Crucifix : Like other vampires, she can't tolerate the cross.
