1698. A vampire, Carmilla makes her first appearance in the series in Castlevania II as a boss enemy inside of the Laruba mansion. Here, she is depicted as a giant floating mask which guards the "magic cross" item.
1792. In Chi No Rondo, the mask appears again, only to break apart seconds later to reveal a nude Carmilla riding atop a giant skull. A potential boss for both the Dungeon and Mountain Range stages, she mainly hovers above the protagonist dripping deadly blood onto him or her, while her charmed lover, Laura, does the bulk of the fighting.
1830. Her most central role yet, Carmilla returns for a third time to resurrect Count Dracula herself. It marks the first time that she has any dialogue in the story. She is battled in the Underground Waterway, again atop a giant floating skull,
though Carmilla herself takes on a more succubus-like form this time.
1852. Carmilla was to have appeared in the 1999 title "Castlevania" aka. "Akumajou Dracula: Mokushiroku" (悪魔城ドラキュラ黙示録), but was scrapped before the game's release. Early concept art shows her battling heroine Carrie Fernandez. It is possible that she was to be the girl's main adversary before Actrise was added.
'
'??? In the spinoff fighting game Castlevania Judgment, Carmilla appears as a playable character, but is no less evil than before. Still allied with Dracula and Death, she battles main protagonists from throughout the series chronology.
