Etta Starkovich (Deborah Strang) is the main villainess from "Fallen Angel," episode 3.06 of Body of Proof (airdate March 26, 2013). She is the mother of Ukrainian-American businessman Arco Starkovich.

As revealed later on, Etta had been running a sex trafficking operation, starting her illegal business even before Arco was born. One of her escorts was a young woman named Oksana Svetlova, who later became Arco's mistress. Their affair resulted in a pregnancy, but once Etta found out about her son's dalliance, she became enraged and had Oksana tied up in the trunk of her car. After Oksana escaped, the evil Etta fired two gunshots at her, killing her and later taking Oksana's necklace (Oksana's baby ended up surviving).

Megan Hunt and Tommy Sullivan first encountered both Arco and Etta when they were on their way out to celebrate Etta's birthday. After learning that Oksana was pregnant with Arco's child as well as her involvement in the sex trafficking business, Arco and Etta were taken in, with the former being accused of running the business and killing Oksana. However, Arco stated that he loved Oksana and took her away from the business by setting her up in their love nest, while also revealing that his mother was running the business. Etta was revealed as the killer when Oksana's necklace was spotted around her neck, and during Tommy's interrogation, the villainess boldly (and with no remorse) admitted to killing Oksana. She chastised her son for impregnating Oksana, and stated that she committed the murder and took the necklace to teach both of them a lesson. Etta was later arrested (off-screen) for Oksana's murder (among other crimes).

Quotes[]

  • "My son broke the golden rule: don't touch the merchandise!" (Etta chastising her son, Arco, for his relationship with Oksana)
  • "When a woman wants something done right, she does it herself. So, I shot the girl and I left her and her bastard to die. I wear her necklace as a warning to my son. This is what happens when you mess with my business." (Etta's cold and callous confession to Oksana's murder)
