Esther Sperling is the protagonist of the 1988 Italian sci-fi horror comic "Storie Blu n. 111: Furia Cieca" (Blind Fury). She was created by Carmelo Gozzo (writer) and Vladimiro Missaglia (artist).
Esther Sperling is the wife of the wealthy and successful Milton Sperling, who just happens to be cheating with a woman named Allyn. Esther learns of this after hiring a private investigator, and one night decides to follow her husband to her "rival's" home. Once Milton leaves after making love to his mistress, Esther steps out from the shadows, knocks Allyn unconscious, and then drives her to a secluded chalet in the mountains. Once the young woman regains her senses, Esther then proceeds to both rape and torture her as retribution, with the added threat to blackmail her if she ever speaks of this. She then leaves Allyn tied up and hung from the ceiling throughout the night. On the drive back, Esther chuckles to herself think that even though revenge was her motivator, the experience also allowed her to indulge in her sadistic side.
Back home with her husband and still turned on by the horrific tortures she inflicted, Esther is eager to have sexual intercourse with Milton. When he resists, Esther at last spills the beans that she is aware of "his little whore", which in turn prompts the husband to state that he wants a divorce. Hearing this, Esther counters that she's doubly glad of what she did to Allyn, and describes her acts in detail. Enraged, Milton heads off to rescue his new love, but when he arrives, he is horrified to find Allyn dead and her corpse brutally mutilated. What he does not realize is that this was done not by Esther, but by a monster that spawned near the cabin. Other monsters also start to appear in the city and it is revealed that their presence was caused by chemical waste that some careless members of an advanced alien race happened to pollute a small section on Earth with.
Having seen footage of the monsters on the nightly news, Esther attempts to tell her husband about them, but it falls on deaf ears. Milton, in a fit of blind rage, tortures and mutilates his wife until she dies.
