Dr. Sandra Jones (Kerry Cahill) is the main villainess from "The Abyss," episode 1.12 of NCIS: New Orleans (airdate January 13, 2015). She is a professor at the Gulf Coast Oceanographic Institute, where she served as an advisor to students Mark Post, Cindy Rutberg, and Anna Huntley (the daughter of Navy Admiral Adam Huntley).
However, Sandra was upset over being underpaid (in her mind) as an educator, so when she learned about a collection of valuable 18th century Spanish pesos, she used her three students to collect them for her, so she could sell them later. Mark, Anna, and Cindy refused Sandra's offer to split the money with her, and after Mark threatened to toss the pesos back into the water, Sandra took out a safety gun and shot Mark to death. After killing Mark, the evil Sandra also murdered both Cindy and Anna, with Anna dying while taking a bullet in a failed attempt to protect Cindy.
Sandra later tossed Anna's body overboard and then used her phone to send messages to Admiral Huntley, giving the impression that Anna was alive but had disappeared. She also posted photos of Anna pointing a gun, and during her interview with Pride and Coast Guard Agent Abigail Borin, Sandra stated that Anna was strapped for cash and appeared to be upset at seeing Mark and Cindy kiss each other; part of Sandra's evil plan to depict Anna as a jealous and greedy villainess.
However, Sandra was revealed as the true villainess when Patton set up a meeting with "Anna" via her online page, with the meeting involving a payout for the coins. Pride and his crew arrived at Jackson Square, where they caught Sandra posing as Anna. After the reveal, Sandra vented over not being paid enough for her work, and justified her villainous actions by stating that companies that pollute the environment make more and more money every day, and she felt that she deserved something for her work. Sandra was arrested for the murders, but not before revealing the location of Anna's body.
