Dr. Rachel Jeffries (Katie A. Keane) was a villainess from "Wasted," episode 2.12 of CSI: NY (airdate January 18, 2006). She is a medical doctor who had Paul Richmont as one of her patients.
Paul was dying of a rare blood disease, and he went to Jeffries due to her claim that she had a cure for his ailment: the use of leeches. The remedy was expensive, with Jeffries charging $3,000 per session, with Paul paying. As the episode progressed, it was revealed that Jeffries was raising leeches under the belief that she could cure what conventional medicine couldn't.
However, it was also revealed that Jeffries was a greedy scam artist, as her sole concern was to make money off Paul, whose condition was not improving. The villainess was confronted by Paul's wife, Lynette (whose jewellery served as payment for the treatments), who expressed her anger at Jeffries for scamming her and Paul--among others. All the while, the evil Jeffries had Lynette's locket around her neck, callously referring to it as "payment for giving Paul hope," before taking it off and handing it to Lynette, who turned it down. The callous doctor looked at her assistant, Tracy Colton, and reminded her that she had jewellery as payment just as Jeffries did, but later on, Jeffries was shot to death by Lynette, who was waiting in ambush for her to leave her office.
