Dr. Mary Courtney (Cheryl Ladd) is the main villainess from "Thirst," episode 9.06 of NCIS (airdate October 25, 2011). She is the Chief Administrator of several social service programs in D.C., and she was also Ducky's love interest in the episode, as they met online.
As revealed later on, Mary is also a serial killer, resorting to murder to gain Ducky's attention. To make sure that cases would reach Ducky and NCIS, the evil Mary sought out military men--mainly unfaithful ones. Her victims were Samuel Alcott and Jason Simms, who were each married but had cheated on their wives. Mary drugged each one with MDMA (ecstasy), tied them up and forced water down their throats, killing them.
While at Mary's home, Ducky vented about Simms and Alcott's killer, referring to the murderer as a sadistic bastard. To Ducky's shock, Mary snapped back and claimed that the killer wanted to help him, and it wasn't easy, revealing herself as the actual killer. While brandishing a pair of scissors, Mary defended her murderous actions, stating that she did it for Ducky and her victims deserved to die. When Gibbs and his team were at the door, Mary attempted to attack Ducky with the scissors, and later locked herself in the bathroom, where she was cutting her wrist. After being tended to by Ducky, Mary was hospitalized and placed in a psychiatric ward.
