Dr Diane Cosgrove (Jennifer Warren) is the leader of a group of modern-day Amazons from the 1984 TV movie Amazons. They have plans for world domination. She has a number of henchwomen including Kathryn Lundquist (Stella Stevens), who seems to take care of the business side. Early on in the film, one of Cosgrove's henchwomen, Vivian (Leslie Bevis) injects a powerful man with a mind altering drug which leads to his death. The heroine, Dr. Sharon Fields (Madeleine Stowe) begins investigating his death and becomes caught up in the Amazon's plans. In one scene Cosgrove intimidates a man on her bed by telling him about the Amazons and how they would take men prisoner, use them for sex and then kill them when they had no further use. Ultimately Diane is shot several times and dies as a result.
The film is unusual in that it was all taken very seriously. It would in some ways have benefited from being treated as an over-the-top B-Movie instead, with more martial arts and some kind of outrageous uniform for the modern day Amazons. Since it was taken seriously, it was all a little understated.
