Dori Cortez was a villainess from "M.I.A.", episode 1.09 of Missing (airdate October 11, 2003). She was introduced as a woman whose name came up during the FBI's investigation into Richard Crowley, a Special Forces soldier whose sister Rebecca had seen him recently, despite him supposedly dying seventeen years prior during combat.

Jess Mastriani's dream led her and Brooke Haslett to Mexicantown bar Los Perros, with a doorman revealing that Richard had attacked another doorman known as "Big Jay". Jay revealed that Richard had been demanding the whereabouts of a woman (later identified as Massiela Landivar) and he later told him to see Dori, as she knew all the girls who worked in the town's bars. Upon arriving at her apartment, however, Brooke and Jess were shocked when the former opened a closet and Dori's deceased body fell out of it, her hands ties behind her back and her body being wet indicating she had been drowned to death. Dori's background was later uncovered by Sunny Estrada, revealing Dori posthumously as a villainous drug dealer.

As Sunny revealed, Dori was a Bolivian immigrant with two drug dealing charges having been brought against her, though both ultimately didn't stick since the police were attempting to use her to catch whoever was supplying her with drugs. A purse containing several women's passports was found in Dori's apartment, leading to the reveal that the evil Dori was helping smuggle women into the US to be used as drug mules--her having previously worked with kingpin Quino Salazar before stealing his supply and going to work on her own. While it was initially believed that Richard killed Dori during his pursuit of Massiela, it was ultimately revealed that Dori was killed by Quino, viewing her as a loose end due to Richard having come to her asking about Massiela; her being his daughter and an unwilling member of Quino's drug smuggling business.
