Courtney Jeffers (Emily Holmes) was a villainess from the 2019 Hallmark film, Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered, the first film of the Chronicle Mysteries series (airdate February 17, 2019).
Courtney's backstory revealed that she worked as a waitress along with Gina DeSavio on the night of Gina's disappearance and presumed death in November 1998. In actuality, Gina's disappearance was due to having seen Bradley Williford poison his wealthy father, and she escaped in fear for her life. Gina was a childhood friend of main protagonist Alexandra "Alex" McPherson, and in the film's events, Alex interviewed Courtney about Gina, as the case was the topic of her podcast, though Courtney appeared to be somewhat shocked over recalling the events.
After Alex left, Courtney phoned Bradley and figured out what he had done 20 years prior, but instead of reporting him, the evil Courtney decided to blackmail him into paying for her silence. Following the call, Courtney was found dead in her home, assumingly of a house fire, but it was revealed that Bradley's henchman poisoned her and set the fire to cover it up, and it was in the film's climax that Courtney was posthumously revealed as a greedy villainess.
