Corale (Gabriella Licudi) is from the 1965 British film The Liquidator.

The film features the character Brian “Boysie” Oakes (Rod Taylor) who is a sort of anti-James Bond, an assassin who doesn’t like to kill people.

Boysie is an American former WWII tank commander who once saved the life of one of the top MI5 officers, Colonel Mostyn (Trevor Howard).

Twenty years later Colonel Mostyn hires Boysie as an off the books assassin for MI5.

Boysie who doesn’t like to pull the trigger himself takes the money for the assassinations and hires his own hitman to do the dirty work.

Boysie is a womanizer, who is living the highlife during the swinging 60s. He is dating and bedding any number of bouffanted beauties with the money he is earning from MI5.

Boysie’s wondering eye soon lands on Colonel Mostyn’s personal secretary Iris (Jill St. John). Iris is a truly beautiful woman however the department has a policy about staff not dating. This rule is strictly enforced making Iris untouchable, but Boysie soon realizes that she holds strong feelings for him as well.

The two plan rendezvous in France. They will travel separately and then share a hotel room in Nice.

Unknown to Boysie, news of his sojourn has proceeded his arrival in Nice. Sheriek, a small time criminal gang leader and Corale watch Boysie as he leaves the plane.

Corale is Sheriek’s seductress, she has been recruited and trained by Sheriek to lure targets into honey traps.

Corale is excited at the prospect of seducing Boysie, whom she finds attractive.

Boysie checks into his hotel believing that his scheme to get into Iris’s panties is going off without a hitch. Iris appears on cue, the two, at last, have a chance to get physical far from the spying eyes of their boss back in London. Colonel Mostyn suspects nothing as Boysie beds his personal secretary.

Out for a walk after his conquest of Iris, Boysie is admiring into the bathing beauties sitting around the pool in their bikinis when he runs into Corale. In reality it is Corale who runs into him and then fakes a hurt leg. Boysie puts her arm over his shoulder and helps her down the bottom of some stone stair leading to the waterfront.

Down at the waterfront Sheriek and the three other men in his gang pretend to be fishermen repairing their net. As Boysie and Corale come in range they are tripped and land on the net, which wrapped around them and they are jammed into the back of a small car.

Boysie and Corale, two strangers, find themselves in a basement room in a safehouse with a single bed. Corale is pretending to act scared and confused and Boysie does his best to comfort her.

Sheriek’s goons take Boysie into another room where he is tied to a chair and threatened, but then he is put back into the room with Corale being told that he would be left alone there for the next two hours.

Boysie is now worried and now Corale turns on her charm. The experience tempress makes her moves on the brooding Boysie, who despite the circumstances responds to her advance and they kiss as they fall back on the bed.

Corale seduces Boysie to pump him for information.

It’s unclear Sheriek and or members of his tiny gang are monitoring the couple. They would had leased have a listening device to pick up any tidbits of information the beautiful Corale might pry from the lips of Boysie as she seemingly innocently questions him during their pending intimacy. She had clearly been specially trained by Sheriek, and it appears that this is a scheme that they have run before. She would be an expert in tempting and teasing her targets as she gets them more and more aroused. Stimulating them into telling their most closely guarded secrets for a chance to make love to her.

While Corale pumps Boysie for information, upstairs Sheriek’s KGB masters arrive unnanouced. They are not happy with Sheriek’s little scheme and have been told by their superiors that Boysie is to be let go and the girl is to be disposed of.

Corale makes a quick cash deposit as Sheriek explains the change in plan.

It turns out that the KGB has bigger plans for Boysie, who they know to be an MI5 agent who is having an affair with the personal secretary of their enemy Colonal Mostyn.

The KGB offiers leave and Sheriek is shaken. He is really only a small time crook caught in a bigger gang. His small gang is a group of four misfits and he has a real affection for his seductress Corale, whom he’s now been ordered to kill.

Corale, having finished love making secession with Boysie, is brought up to meet with Sheriek. Her hair is disheveled after her tryst and she is putting her cloths back on as she is led up the stairs.

Sheriek tells her that there has been a change in plans, and that she is to help Boysie escape. Sheriek pays her for her services and she puts the money in her bra for safe keeping.

Corale's life of crime comes to an end.

She is then led back down to the cellar. Boysie notices that their captors didn’t lock the door this time and he tries it. Holding Corale’s hand he leads her back up the stairs. Corale, who knows it’s all a ploy is a bit bored with Boysie’s over caution as she follows him to their seeming freedom.

Once outside they see the car is parked in the drive way with the keys still in it. Boysie is about to steal the car when Sheriek has one of his men start shooting for affect. (Sheriek also doesn’t like to kill people and has his assassin do his dirty work.)

Boysie and Corale make a run for it, Corale knows that it’s all fake and that they are safe from the whizzing bullets is suddenly killed when Sheriek gives the order to shoot her in the back. She goes down.

Sheriek is crying at the loss of his beautiful seductress as she lies on her back on the ground. He feels terrible about her killing but reaches in her bra to retrieve the money that he paid her before.

The KGB agents then kill Sheriek and the rest of his gang. It turns out that the beautiful Iris is really a double agent and has been working for the KGB. Sheriek’s little scheme risked giving away a bigger operation.

Trivia[]

The Liquidator was based on the first of a series of Boysie Oakes novels by British author John Gardner 1926 – 2007. The Liquidator was published in 1964 during the beginning of the James Bond spy craze. The 1965 film is very true to the novel.

In 1981 Gardner be hired to write the James Bond continuation novels.
