Claudette Wilder (Michelle Phillips) is a villainess in the 1995 episode “Target: Jimmy Olsen!” from the TV series “Lois & Clark”.
Claudette was the former wife of U.S. military scientist Dr. Wilder, who worked on a project called “Valhalla”. The project chose three infants being induced with a dormant synthetic mind controlling virus that gave them free will to control themselves leaving them with only a rash as an aftereffect. When the subjects are induced with a particular serum, it can make them mind controlled vegetables and use them as assassins whenever they hear the word “warrior”.
However, Dr. Wilder had a change of heart about the project and along with his friend Dr. Golden decided to terminate it. The secret was kept for twenty years and during that time Dr. Wilder died from unknown causes and requested that the files of the project should be destroyed.
In the meantime, Claudette and her husband’s daughter, Dr. Katherine Wilder (Claire Yarlett) became a physician at the Metropolis Health Plaza. Claudette came up with a diabolical plan to make money and persuaded her daughter to help with that evil scheme.
While Katherine is searching the file room for the film, Claudette is tasked with keeping Dr. Alan Golden (David Sage) occupied. However, Claudette’s seduction fails, and he catches Katherine attempting to steal the files. Dr. Golden tries to persuade her to not go through with it, and that tampering with people’s lives is dangerous. At that time, Claudette appears along with her henchman Klaus, and said that this plan is her reward for being the “dotey military wife”. When Dr. Golden refuses to be part of the plan, Claudette pulls out a pistol and shoots him in the back. Claudette and Katherine then locate in the files the names of three subjects: G.E. Mallow (Tony Giglio), Sarah Goodwin (Meredith Scott Lynn), and Jimmy Olsen (Justin Whalin).
Katherine spends time coming up with the tysion serum that would awaken the mind controlling virus. At the same time, Claudette located a possible buyer in the form of a terrorist named Mr. Moonhauer (Erick Avari). Claudette plans to use the three now grown test subjects to turn them into assassins. While Claudette is looking for a cash cow and power involved, Katherine views the project of validating her fathers work.
Katherine assures Moonhauer that the serum as well as the virus can be mass produced. She continues that you simply tell your people that your government is giving out flu vaccines, set up clinics, and you can inject everyone in your country. Claudette explained, “imagine, thousands of people blindly answer to your command”.
Claudette and Katherine are able to activate the virus in all three subjects. The first subject, G.E. Marlow, dies while attacking Superman of an apparent overdose of the serum. The other two are put under orders to take out Lois and Clark.
Superman (Dean Clark) stops Sarah from killing him and then sends Jimmy to attack Lois Lane (Teri Hatcher). The two struggle in a hospital room, and Superman rescues her. However, Claudette orders Jimmy to jump out of the tall buildings window. Superman has to rescue him from hitting the ground. Claudette and Katherine use this diversion to make their getaway. Unfortunately for them, they are arrested along with Mr. Moonhauer in the hallway by Dan Scardion (Jim Pirri).
