Claire Sinclair (Kelly Overton) is a recurring villainess from Season One of The CW's Beauty and the Beast.
Introduction[]
Claire first appeared in episode 1.05, "Saturn Returns," where she was introduced as Evan Marks' date at Catherine Chandler's birthday party. She gave a charming impression towards, Cat, Heather (Cat's sister), and Tess Vargas while revealing her background: a Masters' Degree in political science, a PhD in economics, even climbing Mount Everest twice. Claire returned in episode 1.11, "On Thin Ice," appearing in Evan's lab following his phone conversation with J.T. Forbes regarding their plans to exhume the body of a victim the cross-species vigilante (unaware that the vigilante was Vincent). After Claire's arrival, the couple engaged in a romantic tryst inside the lab.
Reveal[]
Claire's reveal as a Muirfield agent
However, Claire turned heel later in the episode, when she was revealed as an agent of Muirfield. Her reveal came when she met her partner, Dr. Sorenson, at a restaurant, and it was there that she revealed that she corrupted Evan's DNA sample from the exhumed body. Claire's plan was to get close to Evan in order to get to Vincent, and she promised her partner that they would get to Vincent before the police do. In episode 1.13, "Trust No One," Claire went on a lunch date with Evan, who quickly noticed the holes in Claire's story about her being on a business trip in Chicago. The villainess later met with Sorenson, who sent her to go after Alex Salter (Vincent's former fiancee), as she had found out the truth about Vincent an episode earlier in "Cold Turkey" and informed a reporter, who Sorenson later killed.
Later in the episode, the evil Claire approached Alex and used her eagerness to help Vincent to manipulate her into helping capture him, which Alex does at a nearby hotel. After Cat arrived, she and Vincent successfully convinced Alex that she was being used, after which Claire arrived to see that Vincent was gone. Alex attempted to claim that Vincent escaped, but Claire saw through the ruse and realized that Alex let him go. Claire unleashed her silencer and planned to kill Alex, only to Vincent to re-enter and subdue the villainess before rescuing Alex. Claire later resurfaced in Evan's lab, taking pictures of his research before being caught by Evan. She later revealed her alliance with Muirfield, as well as their role in making Vincent, while also forcing him to join them. The episode ends, however, without revealing Claire's fate beyond her confrontation with Evan.
