Claire DeVoe (Tracy Scoggins) is a hidden villainess in the 1984 episode "24 Karat Dead" for the TV series "The New Mike Hammer".
After being swindled out of their life savings, an elderly couple hire Mike Hammer (Stacy Keach) to go after a fraudulent gold investment company. The couple handed over their money to purchase gold, and then got swindled. The couple is later murdered and Hammer realizes that the Gotham Precious Medal Exchange that they used is responsible for their deaths. In order to expose it, he goes undercover.
Hammer uncovers a dancer singer Claire DeVoe is responsible for the swindle, but needs to find out what kind of business she is apart of.
Hammer traces Broadway producer Harry Slerick who owns several plays that Claire has starred in. Even though the plays were all flops they seemed to make money in foreign markets that was laundered by the Exchange to fund the overseas terrorist organization.
While investigating this lead, Slerick is murdered in order to keep him quiet, and Hammer is arrested for blowing the cover of some undercover policemen.
Hammer gets romantically involved with Claire. However, he soon figures her involvement. He catches her sabotaging the stage lighting. While holding a gun on her, Claire throw a shuriken at him, which knocks his gun away. However, Hammer moves stage light to blind Claire. Claire loses her balance and falls, landing in a tank of water on stage. In addition, a studio flood light topples over, also landing in the tank of water and Claire is electrocuted. It is revealed that the gold bars are hidden inside the water tank, as she clutches one in death.
