Caroline Bamber (Lucy Cohu) was a villainess from "One for the Road", episode 5.02 of BBC's Death in Paradise (airdate January 14, 2016). She served as the Governor of Saint Marie for four years, dying as a result of cyanide poisoning at her retirement party. Over the course of the investigation into her murder, Caroline's cheerful and benevolent demeanor in life was revealed as a mask for her true nature as a self-serving and calculated woman.

In addition to threatening Francois Tromeur (President of the General Council for Saint Robert) that she would cut trade between his country and Saint Marie if he didn't cut ties with French claims, Caroline also began blackmailing Francois after learning that he was having an affair with Caroline's First Secretary, Lucy Preville; threatening to expose the affair to his wife if he didn't withdraw France's claim over the island of Spinner's Rock.

Ultimately, it was revealed that Caroline's secretary, Ellery Wallace, was behind Caroline's murder. Ellery's young daughter, Amber, was killed as a result of hazardous construction going on in their village, with Amber being struck and killed by a construction truck that was using the narrow roads of the village. To get justice for Amber, Ellery became Caroline's secretary as a means of putting an end to the construction. While working with her, however, Ellery learned that Caroline had rejected a proposal to build a new road for the construction trucks, claiming that it would be too expensive and callously referring to the possible deaths that would ensue as a result of the dangerous situation as "negligible fatalies". Realizing that Caroline had caused his daughter's death and that she had lied to him to cover her secret and assuage her conscience, Ellery killed Caroline by lacing an envelope Caroline was prepared to seal with cyanide, with Caroline ingesting the poison by licking the envelope seal and dying during her party.
