Caitlyn Lynch (Tracy Pollan) is the main villainess from "How to Make a Killing in Big Business," a three-part episode from Season Five of Medium (Parts 1 & 2 airdate May 4, 2009; Part 3 airdate May 11, 2009).
Parts 1 & 2[]
Caitlyn Lynch is a high ranking member of the Lydecker Corporation, and in Part 1, she contacted Allison DuBois regarding a job offer--the same one she had for the DA--using her psychic gifts to benefit the corporation. Caitlyn reveals that like Allison, she has visions via dreams. During this transition, Allison is involved in a case involving a serial killer who had been killing young women and removing their eyes, who was revealed as Justin Lydecker, the son of CEO Douglas Lydecker, in Part 2.
Part 3[]
In Part 3, Allison is phoned by Caitlyn right after Allison had a vision where Justin was closing in on killing Douglas. The vision is true; Justin murdered his father, but when Allison encounters Caitlyn at the site, Caitlyn stated that terrorists murdered Douglas, covering up what really happened. Caitlyn explained to Allison that the truth would ruin the corporation and the family name, while stating that this was a terrorist attack would put them in a positive light. Caitlyn's heel turn was cemented when she warned Allison to realize that they were in it together. Later on, Allison had a vision that Caitlyn knew that Justin wasn't taking his medication and that he intended to kill Douglas, but the villainess denies the claim when Allison confronts her.
In the end of the conclusion, Caitlyn watched news coverage of Justin being arrested for breaking in to the home of Miss Snowden, Ariel's teacher, with the call to police coming after Ariel having a vision of Miss Snowden being murdered in Justin's usual fashion. At that moment, Caitlyn is again confronted by Allison, who now had Davalos with her, and it was there that Caitlyn's role in Douglas' murder was revealed. Caitlyn had known full well of Justin's intentions of killing his father, and she used that as part of her evil plan to become CEO. She told Justin that Douglas planned on sending him away to Mexico, and when he visits, it would be the perfect site to kill him. As revealed by Davalos, the evil Caitlyn paid off the Mexican officials to make Douglas' murder look like an act of terror, and she became the corporation's interim CEO. Caitlyn is arrested for her role in Douglas Lydecker's murder, but not before terminating Allison from her position at the corporation, much to Allison's delight.
