Bombalurina (Taylor Swift) is a secondary antagonist in the 2019 musical film ‘Cats’. She is the glamorous feline accomplice of Macavity (Idris Elba).
Before her reveal as henchwoman to Macavity, Bombalurina appears several times in the background. However, her time comes to shine when she performs her number ‘Macavity The Mystery Cat’.
Bombalurina is lowered down on a crescent moon, singing seductively. To distract the cats, she showers catnip over several of them, incapacitating them. The femme fatale continues her number, until her lover Macavity appears. The two continue their song in unison.
Bombalurina is present when Macavity tries to force Old Deuteronomy (Judi Dench) to give him the new life; Bombalurina agrees with him. She and Macavity kidnap Old Deuteronomy and take her to the boat, where Macavity has kidnapped several contestants for a chance at gaining the new life and taken there. She watches callously as Macavity tries to force Old Deuteronomy into the water where she will drown. However, The Magic Mr. Mestopheles manages to magic her back in time.
After all the cats on the ship, an angry Macavity teleports away with Bombalurina; he is seen again but his accomplice isn’t.
