Beverly Gareth (Kristy Syverson) is a villainess in the 1985 episode "Sticks and Stones" for the TV series, Murder, She Wrote.
Beverly Gareth was a selfish and greedy woman. A year ago she had bribed former real estate agent turned sheriff Harry Pierce (John Astin) to burn down a lighthouse, so it would be possible to sell the land. However, Beverly had secretly recorded their converstations and blackmailed Harry bleeding him dry.
Instead of turning himself and Beverly in, Harry murdered Beverly by sneaking into her basement and drilling a hole into her bathroom. He then turned off the power from the fusebox and turned it back on when she touched the plug to her TV set, which electrocuted her to death.
However, Beverly had feared for her life, and as precausion she wrote a letter to Amos Tuppen hinting the truth of the fire and entrusted the letter to her father's former secretary Elvira Tree. She asked Elvira to mail the letter in case that something would happen to her and warn Harry of it. But Harry worked out a plan to eliminate the threath of the letter by writing poison pen letters with false accusassion to make the real letter look like the work of crazed mind.
Jessica however was able to tell apart Beverly's letter as the genuine one, being that it was address a long time ago to 'Sheriff Amos Tuppen'.
