Beth's unnamed mother (Denise Crosby) is the hidden secondary villainess from the 2015 Lifetime film Don't Wake Mommy (alternately titled Dark Intentions and Maternal Bonds; airdate January 3, 2016). She is the mother of Beth, the film's main villainess, and is equally as psychotic as her daughter is.

Beth's mother had a disturbed belief that once her daughter (whose birth name was Bethany) grew up from being an infant, she lost what made her perfect. She became deranged and eventually helped cover for Beth after she abducted both a baby boy (who she named Robert) and also baby Ava, with the latter being the daughter of main protagonist Molly. Molly encountered Beth's mother when she went to her home looking to rescue Ava from Beth's clutches. The delusional villainess was shown tending to a baby doll and cradling it, and then explaining to Molly that she knew the doll wasn't a real baby, but that was what made him perfect (in her mind).

Beth's mother responded to Molly's demands regarding Ava by telling her that she doesn't have a baby; referring to Ava and "Robert" as Beth's twins. She later took out a syringe full of chemicals and attempted to kill Molly, only for Molly to fight back and lock the psychotic villainess in a room, while also taking possession of the needle. Beth and her mother were both arrested at the end of the film, with Beth's mother demanding to know what was being done to her daughter.

Quotes[]

  • "I know what you're thinking. But you're wrong. I know he's not real. That's what makes him perfect. If he was real, then he'd grow up, just like Bethany did, and lose everything that made him perfect in the first place." (Beth's mother's twisted justification of her beliefs to Molly)
