Bedbug was a mercenary succubus who fed on powered humans by killing them with her long, powerful tongue. She was a minor antagonist and her history is unknown. Appeared in Gen 13 (1995) #48 & 53.
Story[]
The mercenary Bedbug was hired by the mastermind villain Tao to kill the Gen-13 team. A demon succubus, she had a long powerful tongue to draw the life out of powered humans and a bat like winged creature attached to her body. She referred to herself as “we”, indicating a symbiotic relationship with this creature. Bedbug attacked Gen-13 and was winning until the weather powered Rainmaker created a freezing blizzard. Bedbug was nearly frozen solid and had her tongue shattered off after getting it got stuck to a light post. Having barely escaped with her life, Bedbug went into hiding to regenerate.
Sometime later Bedbug was lured with the promise of cash, along with a couple other second-stringer mercenaries, to meet a mystery villain. The villain turned out to be the telepath Threshold, a longtime Gen-13 foe. He summoned them to be part of his war of vengeance against Gen-13. Not wanting to get her ass kicked again by Gen-13, Bedbug refused to fight them and tried to leave. Informing her she had no choice, Threshold took telepathic control of Bedbug, forcing her to obey without question, without fail, and without hesitation ("and that is how you will die for me"). Bedbug is not seen again, though Threshold had a history of ruthlessly sacrificing his minions, so it is likely she perished.
