Athena Brookes (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) is the hidden villainess of "Life After Death", episode 1.08 of Fox's The Finder (airdate April 6, 2012). She was the lawyer of hip-hop mogul "Big Glade", who represented deceased rapper "J-Stryke" (his real name being Booker). When supposedly new J-Stryke tracks began being released on an anonymous podcast, Big Glade enlisted Walter Sherman to uncover the podcast's source, as the tracks legally belonged to him now. While Walter was initially uninterested in the case, he ultimately agreed when he learned that Athena had history with his friend Leo Knox.
When Athena met with Leo at "The Ends of the Earth", the bar he and Walter ran, she revealed that she had been keeping an eye on him and the fact that their "relationship" had not moved past Leo having temptations for her while still married. While the two shared drinks, Athena also confessed that the J-Stryke situation was mostly an excuse to reconnect with Leo and gave him a passionate kiss. She later tried to convince Leo to leave the bar and return to work with her, but Leo refused, citing that he had changed since retiring from being an attorney.
Walter eventually discovered that Booker's brother, Trey, had been the one who recorded and leaked the tracks to the podcast host--his voice being similar to Booker's--and had also been responsible for his death. He had instructed Trey to shoot him in the leg to help improve his "street cred", but the bullet severed his femoral artery and caused him to bleed to death, with Trey later claiming his brother was killed in a drive-by shooting. But after hearing that Booker's final words were "This is not our fault", Walter deduced that Athena had ordered Booker to get shot in order to improve his image and make a better profit, as well as for being behind the non-fatal attack on Karim (the podcaster Trey had given the recordings to). After Walter confronted Athena with Glade in attendance, Glade called Athena out for her callousness and handed over his gun, saying he wouldn't go along with her. When Athena's attempt to threaten Leo to give over the hard drive failed to shake him, Athena tossed the gun away and stormed out. The gun used to kill Booker--which Athena provided--was later found after Trey confessed, and Athena was brought in for questioning. She was presumably arrested offscreen for her role in Booker's demise.
