Anna Palmer (Carly Schroeder) is the main protagonist and plot-twist villainess from the 2018 Lifetime film, Deadly Shores (airdate August 24, 2018).
Backstory[]
Not much is revealed about Anna Palmer's backstory, not even her maiden name, though it was uncovered that her parents died when their family home was set on fire. Though Anna was a child when it happened, she was suspected of killing her parents, though her reasons weren't uncovered. Anna's trust fund later kicked at age 21, and sometime before the events of the film, she met and married author Richard Palmer.
Events[]
The beginning of the film showed Anna and Richard moving into their new home, where the former received a chilly reception from housekeeper Mrs. Argyle. The home was previously shared by Richard and his previous wife, Grace, and unbeknownst to Anna, Richard murdered Grace and was colluding with his mistress, Beth, to have Anna committed so they could gain access to her money. A visit from her psychiatrist, Dr. Shaw, revealed Anna's past as a suspected arsonist and murderess, and he informed Richard to have Anna pick up her medication.
The film's climax saw Richard reveal his true colors, as well as his scheme to gain Anna's finances. She was later assaulted by her husband and locked in the tower, with Anna screaming shortly afterwards. As time passed, however, Anna's heel persona resurfaced, and when Mrs. Argyle (who had long suspected that Richard killed Grace) entered to rescue Anna, she ended up attacked and nearly killed by the psychotic woman. Anna later spotted Richard and beat him to death with a candlestick holder; by this point, Anna's sadistic demeanor was in full form. The demented villainess targeted Beth next, flashing a very deranged grin before chasing Beth and bludgeoning her to death as well. Anna was spotted by Carrie, a bartender who Anna had befriended, and she was later arrested.
The film's final scenes showed Anna in a mental hospital, where she was given her ceramic horse by an orderly. Anna stated to the orderly that he shouldn't be afraid and that she wouldn't hurt a fly, but she did so while smiling evilly and sadistically, indicating that she was capable of killing her parents as a little girl and was willing to kill again.
