Anka Jostun (Noortje Herlaar) is the villainess of "Everybody Will Know", episode 2.04 of Crossing Lines (airdate September 18, 2014).
History[]
Anka was the older sister of Peter Jostun, and four years prior to the episode's events, he was sent by their parents to a summer camp in Germany. There, he was befriended by four popular teens: Martin Gross, Erlebnis Camp, Amélie Weurfel, and Stefan Hoster, with Amélie even appearing to take a romantic interest in him.
But in actuality, the four were really setting Peter up for a cruel prank, which had them posting embarrassing photos of him online that led to Peter being humiliated and mocked, eventually driving him to commit suicide.
Events[]
Vengeful and blaming the four teens for her brother's death, Anka decided to take revenge on them in a similar way to how they had pranked Peter. After hacking into the teens' laptop webcams, Anka would record video of the teens and later use the incriminating footage to harass and threaten them, with the goal of goading them into suicide. Prior to the episode, Anka had successfully executed her twisted scheme on Erlebnis and Martin, and the episode began with Amélie jumping off a roof to her death after being hounded by Anka with footage of her sleeping with her mother's boyfriend. After each of her crimes, Anka would remotely destroy her victims' cell phone to cover her tracks.
As German police officer Kathrin Eicholz came to the ICC (being colleagues with member Sebastian Berger) for help investigating the suicides, Anka began to torment Stefan with footage she'd recorded of him kissing his secret boyfriend, taunting him with the fact that she would soon make the footage go viral. Anka was ultimately tracked down to the Internet cafe where she was doing her hacking and Kathrin and ICC investigator Arabella Seeger caught her as she was preparing to upload the footage she had of Stefan.
When Kathrin and Arabella confronted Anka on her callous actions, the evil Anka defended herself by saying she had only victimized four people and proceeded to reveal her backstory regarding her brother. She also argued that her victims deserved to die for what they had done to Peter and coldly stated that she hoped Stefan would succeed in his suicide attempt, having previously sent him instructions on how to make a noose. Stefan was revived and Anka was arrested, though it was believed that Anka would only face minor charges (as goading someone into committing suicide wasn't considered a crime in Germany) and that she would still have the opportunity to harass Stefan once she was released.
