Angela Olvera (Dilshad Vadsaria) is a villainess from "The Wrong Stuff," episode 7.16 of Castle (airdate February 23, 2015). She was one of the astronauts participating in a simulated mission to Mars, which was done in preparation in hopes for an actual mission.
Angela's personal history revealed that she was married to engineer George Reyes, who had originally applied for the mission alongside her. During the six months she spent on the simulation, however, Angela fell in love with astronaut captain Elise Kim, so she sent a Dear John letter to George telling him that she was breaking off their marriage because she had found someone else (without revealing who it was). Tom Hammond, Mikhail Dankov, and Rusham Haroun were also part of the simulation though the rest of the group found out that Mikhail was selling secrets to a rival group funded by Sir Ian Rasher. Also, Tom's obnoxious and controlling behavior was getting on the group's nerves, but rather than demand a replacement and risk losing their chance to go to Mars, Angela, Elise, and Haroun colluded together in a murderous scheme.
The triumvirate convinced MIRA, their mission computer, that Tom was a threat to their mission and used MIRA's connection to the rover to kill him, which was done when the rover picked up Tom's screwdriver and stabbed him to death. Angela and Haroun later ditched the weapon in a tunnel, and during a video phone call with Castle and Beckett, the evil Angela attempted to portray George as a suspect after revealing that she wanted a divorce because she was in love with Elise, claiming that he believed Tom was Angela's new love and might have killed him out of jealousy. The villainous astronauts' plan was to pin the murder on Mikhail (who was unaccounted for at the time of Tom's death); however, one of his photos showed the rover with the blood-covered screwdriver, which began Angela's reveal.
Viggo Jansen's attempt to reboot MIRA resulted in him, Castle, and Beckett being locked in the room with gas entering through, but they were saved in time and figured out that Angela, Elise, and Haroun were involved with the murder. Their scheme was revealed by Castle and Beckett, with Angela (along with her cohorts) denying everything, stating that she was with Haroun at the time of the murder. Castle claimed that Jansen built a black box for MIRA that would send her data to a satellite, meaning that the astronauts' conversations were recorded and their plan to kill Tom would be revealed. The "black box" was a ruse cooked up by Castle, but not wanting to take any chances, the conspirators caved and ratted each other out, leading to their off-screen arrests.
